Confined Space Supervisor

Confined Space Supervisor training takes place over four days, which are split into a two day basic introduction and two days of practical work on site. The course takes place at the customer’s site or training facility, with an intake of six to eight delegates per class. The course is suitable for anyone whose job involves entry into confined spaces for either work or rescue operations (i.e. team leaders, risk assessors, permit issuers or plant managers), thus requiring specific knowledge of the Confined Space Regulations (1997).

The course’s aim is to help attendees develop awareness and identify basic hazards that are present when working in confined spaces, as well as the correct procedures and inspection of equipment. Delegates will identify a range of confined spaces within their particular area of responsibility. They will understand their role on site and will review and validate entry risk assessments, entry plans and rescue plans for a range of locations.

Delegates will come away from the Confined Space Supervisor training course with a variety of templates, generated as a working tool for future operations. Delegates will review entry and rescue equipment put together packages of equipment to suit each of the identified classifications of space.

Classroom seminars will be followed by an examination in which delegates will produce a set of documents to be reviewed against the corporate work instruction and the guidelines detailed in the Confined Space Regulations ACOP.

Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be presented with a certificate confirming their passing of a confined space supervisor course. This certificate will be valid for three years from the date of issue.
